Inion Arts Resin Dipping – Cosy Craft Club

I’ve seen Inion Arts doing demonstrations at several crafting events I’ve been to over the years and was always intrigued by their resin dipping, so when I saw this kit available via Cosy Craft Club, I knew I had to try it straight away! Cosy Craft Club do a subscription service, but they sell their kits individually as well – this kit was £36. You can also buy the kits directly from Inion Arts.

Included in the box was:

  • Resin dip x4 (blue, red, yellow, green)
  • Oasis
  • Florist tape
  • Wire
  • Stamens

This was a supply box of materials, rather than a kit with a prescriptive project to complete. There were instructions available online to make a basic flower shape, showing how to form the petals, dip them and leave them to dry, before assembling them into a flower with the stamens. The florist tape was used to secure the petals together, creating the stem. I’m used to working with pouring resin which takes ages to dry, but these were dry within minutes and fine to be handled.

I looked on the Inion Arts website, where they have lots of examples of things that can be made using resin dipping, and there’s so much to experiment with! I tried to recreate some of the shapes I’d seen and also played around with shapes of my own to see what would work. It was so much fun, and I can definitely see lots of potential for incorporating this technique into future work.
