I do like a bit of macrame every now and then! This kit from Craftiosity is a simple but effective piece of home décor made up of a few basic knots. As usual with the Craftiosity kits it only takes a few hours and can be completed in a morning or afternoon, allowing you to get your crafting fix without taking up too much time.

Included in the kit was:
- Cotton cord
- Square acrylic mirror
- Wooden ring
- Wooden beads x2

As with all the Craftiosity kits the instructions are full of good photographs for each step, plus there are video tutorials available. If you have never done macrame before I highly recommend watching videos of how to do the knots, it is so helpful to watch someone do it in real time. It’s definitely a good idea to be able to hang your piece whilst you work on it, rather than trying to work flat on the table. It enables you to get much better tension and shape to your knots.

The only problem I had with this kit was that when I tested the mirror in it after creating the supporting knots at the back I found that the mirror didn’t sit nicely in the space. The pictures of the wall hanging on the front on the booklet also did not match the description of how the mirror should fit in between the knots in the main body of the instructions. I checked my measurements and knots but what I had done tallied with the instructions so I untied some of the knots and redid them leaving a slightly larger gap, which seemed to resolve the issue.

Overall it was a good kit and it didn’t take me long to redo the section that wasn’t quite right. The result was great and I liked the option to choose how long you wanted your tassels to be at the bottom as there was plenty of cord left to play with once the knotting was finished.
