Marbled Succulent Pots – Craft Box Club

The great thing about doing all these craft kits is the opportunity to try out crafts I wouldn’t normally take the time to do by myself, and this marbling kit from Craft Box Club definitely falls into that category. This is a craft where you have to not mind getting a bit messy; I highly recommend putting some newspaper down before you start mixing the paint!

Included in the kit was:

  • Pots with wooden stands x3
  • Powder paint x2 (black and white)
  • Copper leaf
  • Coffee stirrers x2
  • Large lolly sticks x2
  • Glue

The instructions are accessed via the link provided and are available as both written/picture instructions or as a video guide. I watched the video to start with to fully understand the process and then followed along with the written instructions as I was actually doing the project. My hands were way too covered in paint to keep pausing the video once I started making! I also meant to take photos of the process, but found that I couldn’t because I was so messy.

The instructions covered the process for marbling one pot and then said to repeat for each pot, however I found that I had plenty of paint for all three pots just from the first mix that I did. I just added extra black each time to ensure I got the marbled effect and remembered to only ripple the black paint through the white and not to mix fully otherwise all the pots would have just been grey. Powder paint isn’t my favourite to use as it can be a little temperamental to mix, but it is eco-friendly which is the main ethos of Craft Box Club so it makes sense that this is the type of paint included in these kits.

I really liked the use of the copper leaf. It gives the pots a little sparkle that makes them extra special. These pots are labelled as succulent pots, but I’m sure you could put any plants you like in there. Included in the kit was a discount code to order some mini succulents for your pots. This box is actually from 2021 (which goes to show how big my craft kit backlog is!) so I think I’ve missed out on the chance to use the code but it’s a really nice addition to the kit.
